In a world of high energy costs, finding alternative cheap sources of energy and ways of reducing energy usage are paramount. Alternative energy sources tend to have very high start up costs (for example solar and wind energy generation). Alternative lighting solutions have several options but not all are very efficient and/or even affordable. Our solutions are both very efficient and affordable.

To our customers who are pursuing alternative energy sources, we advise that you firstly implement efficient lighting solutions, which will reduce the amount of energy being used. Reducing the amount of energy to be generated will also reduce the cost of these alternative energy sources (for example, fewer solar panels, or wind generators).

Here are some other benefits of LED bulbs:

• LED bulbs produce 90% light and 10% heat, this means a reduction in cooling costs (Air Conditioning) for rooms with traditional lighting (Non-LED).
• The LIFETIME of these bulbs range from 35,000 hours to 50,000 hours. At a daily usage of 10 hours, each bulb would last 3,500 days (9.59 YEARS) to 5,000 days(13.7 YEARS). If the daily usage is less than 10 hours, then naturally they last longer, for example 5 hours a day = 27 YEARS. Lifetime of traditional bulbs are much shorter; incandescent bulbs last 2,000 hours and CFL bulbs (Energy saving) last 8,000 hours. Depending on usage CFL bulbs tend to last between 1 and 2 years.
• Considering the long lifetime of these bulbs, PAYBACK periods of 2 months to 1.7 years are VERY SHORT considering the remaining years (8 – 20 YEARS, depending on usage) would be STRAIGHT SAVINGS.
• Compared to flourescent lighting, LEDs have not only a longer lifetime, but are more environmentally friendly ( since they do not contain toxic mercury), they turn on instantly, and their lifetime is not reduced by cycling on and off.
• Characteristics of these bulbs also help us to have control over light patterns, efficient light distribution, and colour temperatures. Appropriate colour temperatures are suitable depending on the lighting needs, for example warm vs natural white vs cool white.
